Q&A
Tell us a bit about your journey from city to surburbs and how you are helping clients with that transition?
We both moved out of the city during Covid and have loved becoming a part of our new communities. We work hard to help clients repurpose their city furniture so that they can keep the pieces they love while creating a cohesive design in their new homes. We love it when we reupholster a chair or move a small sofa from your city living room to your suburban bedroom to create an entirely new look.
How do you describe your individual design style?
We believe it’s very important to start every project by listening to our clients needs and understanding their design goals. While our individual design aesthetic leans toward clean lines and modern pieces, we love mixing them with family heirlooms and classic pieces that will never go out of style. Adena loves a pop of color while Erica prefers the layering of tonal textures. But, more important than our own individual style, our goal is for your home to reflect your personal style, only elevated and curated.
What types of budgets/investments and project scopes you work with?
No job is too small if there is a good fit between us and the client. That being said, while we know many designers steer clear of working on renovations, we love the challenge. Our favorite projects are the ones in which we get involved from the start to conceptualize how spaces can be used differently to improve both function and flow. We get involved in every aspect of the project and work closely with the architect and contractor, and can bring in our own specialists as needed (we’ve got “a guy” for everything). We often act as project managers and/or client advocates to ensure that projects get completed on time and on budget.
Anything else you want potential clients to know about you?
We want the design process to be fun! When clients are spending this much time and money on their home, we want to remove the stress that is often associated with this process so that it is smooth and easy. We always provide multiple options for each item at varying price points, all of which fit into the design aesthetic and measurements of the given space. We provide transparent financial information and are diligent about keeping to budget requirements. During our regularly scheduled meetings, we bring the shopping home to you to accommodate everyone's busy schedules.
