DESIGN PORTRAIT: Alexa Horton
Jewelry designer Alexa Horton describes her aesthetic as clean, minimalistic and monochromatic, with maybe a touch more minimalism. I seira, the name of Alexa's jewelry company I Seira Jewelry, means series in Greek (her mom’s heritage) and continued transformation, which has been a theme in her artistry: once a dancer, then an architect, now a jewelry designer. It has also been a theme in her home, which was built in 1835, added on to in the 1920s and again just a few years ago.
Every inch of the home is impeccably curated to create a simplistic Scandinavian feel within the walls of the classically Connecticut colonial, with an original blacksmith’s barn serving as her studio space where she practices gold-smithing with her preferred medium of high carat gold.
The sitting room is Alexa’s favorite for obvious reasons - the dreamy ivory palette, the massive windows bringing in light and nature, the painted brick floor, and her collected furnishings, which interior designer @weatherleighinteriors helped her pull together:
Sofa: @abccarpetandhome
Side Table: @bddw_etc
Tulip Table: #saarinen
Candlestick in vignette: @tedmuehling
Jewelry: @iseirajewelry
Stools : @lawsonfenning
Dresser: Antique Wedding Gift
Mirror and Candlesticks: Antique from Sweden
Thank you for the home tour Alexa! If you’d like to see Alexa’s jewelry creations in person, she is part of a show @thecollective.west with @linda.hoj.designs on MAY 4. We will be there!
