About

Ariane, the original goose, has always had a passion for reimagining spaces with an eye for the smallest details. Born in Paris, raised in Connecticut, and with family across the globe, she draws inspiration from the diverse homes and lifestyles she's encountered.

After graduating from Colby College, she launched her design career at F. Schumacher & Co., sparking her passion for creating rooms that are not just functional, but also full of character—a thoughtful layout, yummy colors and textures, and killer lighting. In 2018, Ariane took a bold step and founded LFG, embracing a new chapter with enthusiasm and no regrets. Ariane stays connected to her community through volunteer work and board service, and when she's not designing, she enjoys relaxing at home in Stamford with her family and three Havanese dogs.

“I love playing around with the layout of a room, you can always fit more furniture than you think; it's the difference between cookie cutter and WOW.”

Q&A

How do you describe your brand style?

Comfortable, elegant, lived-in - I want to design spaces where kids and pets are always welcome. Real life is a real thing and I don't think you need to sacrifice beautiful surroundings just because you have pets or kids. I'm not a fan of the term "transitional" but I do love mixing old and new, high and low, fancy and casual, so I might have a transitional style after all.

Which projects excite you most?

I am inspired by the incredible array of homes that we are lucky to have here in Fairfield County. With deep roots in Connecticut, the local community is important to me so I am mindful about cultivating relationships that will endure. I also need to have fun while I work. What's the point if the entire process is not enjoyable?

Anything else you want potential clients to know about you?

I'm a bit of a chameleon and am inspired by so many different aesthetics, so nothing makes me happier than a client who is daring and wants to go for something out of the ordinary: a color-soaked room, large scale artwork, wallpaper, mixing of different patterns and textures beyond what "matches", tons of lighting on dimmers. That being said, I can also color between the lines - it's the client who gets to dictate the direction, after all, I just help bring it to life.
