About
Rise Projects is a full-service architecture and interiors firm known for award winning, inspirational and client focused design work. We have cultivated a following for our well-thought-out designs that strike a balance between the elegant and the bold.
I founded Rise in 2012 because I am passionate about making beautiful things and about real-world solutions. I spent a long time studying—undergraduate at UC Berkeley and Masters degrees from both Columbia and Princeton Universities and was honored to be a Guggenheim Fellow and a Fulbright Scholar—but my true love is for envisioning spaces and figuring out how to bring them to life.
“We deftly solve difficult situations and enjoy bringing creative and fresh thinking to a wide array of challenges.”

Q&A
What is your creative process? How do you describe the style of your work?
Our creative process begins with the site and its space, uses, and light. Then we layer on materials, color, sensibility, and joy. Finally, we add our understanding of the client, their priorities, needs and desires.
We like our work to defy categorization, whether that means mixing the traditional and the modern, using materials that are high tech combined with antiques, or picking the inky blue that just might be black.
Ultimately, this delivers designs that are crisp, modern, welcoming, and unique. They also tend to be timeless because they are not driven by style first but by a deep understanding of the project desires and needs.
Which projects excite you most? What excites you about Fairfield County?
We are excited that the Rise team is getting the opportunity to do more public work. We are currently designing a community center in East Hampton and a restaurant in Fire Island. We also have a number of projects (both public and private) in Boulder, Colorado.
That said, we love our residential clients and would not be successful without their confidence in us. Creating a home that someone loves is tremendously satisfying and learning about our clients and understanding their needs is one of our favorite parts of the process.
We are thrilled to be doing more work in Fairfield County. It is a beautiful area and we find the residents appreciate good design, quality materials, and are just generally great people. We know that modern design has taken off in Fairfield and we believe this sophisticated audience will appreciate new interpretations as we bring our vision to the community.
Anything else you want potential clients to know about you?
We love the design process and that can be infectious. We look forward to sharing our love of design with the Designport Community!
