About

The phrase “Not all those who wander are lost” perfectly captures the essence of my journey as a photographer. Nowhere is this more evident than in my travels to Vermont, where the adventure of exploring an unfamiliar gravel road unfolds into quiet discoveries. As I navigate these paths, my focus remains on the road ahead, yet my eyes constantly search for moments that speak to me. These are the fleeting instances that embody the spirit of the landscape — whether it's a solitary tree standing tall in a meadow, a barn weathered by time, or a lone cow grazing in peaceful solitude.

These moments often arise during the golden hours of light — the soft, ethereal glow of dawn as the sun kisses the earth, or the warm, soft light of evening. It’s during these times that I pause and envision how to capture the essence of what I see, creating a photograph that embodies the concept “less is more.” Over time, this idea has become my guiding compass in the creative process, helping me craft images that invite the viewer in, evoking both simplicity and depth. Through this approach, I find my voice as a storyteller fulfilled, sharing with others the beauty of quiet moments that might otherwise be overlooked.

Artist’s Statement:

My experience as a teacher has greatly influenced my artistic journey, fostering qualities such as sensitivity, reflection, creativity, and patience. Teaching taught me to think outside the box, to adapt, and to approach challenges with care. These same traits now guide my work as a photographer. My greatest strength lies in my ability to visualize images that capture the essence of a moment, paying close attention to the subtleties of light that set the mood and feeling, allowing the simplicity of each image to speak volumes.
