SNOOP: Cape Claveloux, an Artist’s Abode

We’ve admired this home on many a neighborhood walk and each time Yvonne Claveloux’s gorgeous abstract art shows up in our feed, so it was such a treat to visit with her and explore her home that she literally bought on a whim during a tag sale! Learn a bit about how she embraces the “beauty of drips and smudges.” And catch a glimpse of how her almost all white palette provides the most beautiful backdrop for her both her bright and bold canvases or her more muted pieces matched with interesting antiques acquired over the years.

Her living room is a study in vintage meets modern, with antique finds mixing with lucite pieces she’s collected over the years. But her kitchen and family room steal the show. She and her husband undertook a renovation to expand the back of the house while maintaining the classic charm of the front. The kitchen features all white cabinetry, open shelving, and white ship-lap. Her island is an old architect’s drafting table.

In the family room she made what’s new old again but installing a double-height stone fireplace - they chose all of the stones themselves.

Yvonne’s art is available for purchase at Swoon Westport (@swoonwestport), Monika Olko Gallery in Sag Harbor (@monikaolkogallery) and Convey Art Gallery (@conveyartgallery) in Ridgewood, NJ and prints and info on commissioned work are available on Yvonne’s site (https://www.yclavelouxart.com/)

Yvonne recently expanded her collection into a collaboration with Birkenstock and an amazing collection of really pretty athletic wear. Take a look! Thank you for the #snoop, Yvonnne!
