SNOOP: Kate's Mid-Century Jewel

Some things are even better the second time around. Kate Freeman and her design-loving husband proved this to be true when they purchased a mid-century modern home in Westport, CT and gave it a second life. And it is a glamorous one!

The home was built in 1966 by George White, an architect that went on to work under three presidents as the Capitol architect. The creative couple embarked on a massive renovation, being sure to keep the bones of the house in tact. They found creative ways to create storage and keep things streamlined. Some smart updates include: A brand new black Boffi kitchen with hidden storage, a secret “Harry Potter” wall, and an invisible mantel that was a big compromise. It all works!

Kate’s favorite colors are pink and orange. If you’re familiar with her baby, Encirckled Jewelry, this makes perfect sense. She launched the company during the pandemic. They use semi-precious stones and 14k and 18k gold to make beautiful, candy-colored fine jewelry sold on Instagram (@encirkledjewelry) to clients world-wide. They also resell a lot of vintage gold.

Take the Snoop! And be sure to watch until the end to see the wild Gucci powder room.

Here are a few more dramatic before and after images we can’t stop staring at.
