Split-Leveling Up: A Beach House Goes Vertical
Split-level homes can be a challenge to renovate, but to homeowners Jamie Camche and her husband Glenn, this one presented a fun challenge. Jamie and Glenn are serial renovators and creatives by nature - Jamie is the founder and force behind JL Rocks Jewelry and Glenn is the President and Creative Director of Dolce Vita handbags. For their third renovation together, they decided to go big…and vertical.
Working with builder Rick Burke of Burke Construction Builders and Achilles Architects, Jamie and Glenn Camche set out to completely reinvent their beach house. Their vision was ambitious: they wanted to bring the entrance to ground level for easy access, build upwards to add significant square footage, and create an open, airy main living space. They also dreamed of adding a luxurious roof deck and a serene pool area.
See below for the transformation process:
To achieve a serene and sophisticated interior, Jamie and Glenn relied on their long-time designer Yvonne Ferris. Using (mostly) neutral tones, Ferris let the large windows and views be the focus, with furnishings that feel luxurious and chic, yet simple. The transformation extended to the outdoor spaces as well. The minimalist landscape is designed by Allison Feuer Designs.
